Cosmetic breast surgery

Aesthetic breast plastic surgery encompasses a broad spectrum of procedures. Cosmetic breast surgery includes procedures to enlarge the breasts (breast augmentation/ breast implant surgery), to lift droopy breasts (breast lift surgery, mastopexy), to reduce breast volume (breast reduction) and procedures to correct breast asymmetry. Additionally there are procedures to correct excess breast tissue in men (gynaecomastia).

Women can have problems with their breasts for a number of reasons. These include developmental problems (under or over development or asymmetry), problems relating to breast feeding, pregnancy, ageing or issues that occur after massive weight loss. Many women who have had breast implants in the past may require maintenance or revisional surgery.
